Steven began as a biochemist and Peace Corps volunteer, then discovered the joy of connecting people through food. Connor brings a deep love of French pastry and the patience behind every layer. Together, they make thoughtful, buttery food that turns an everyday stop into a moment worth sharing.

What we make by hand
A bakery built one beautiful bite at a time
Buttered Up began in 2011 as Squarz Pies at Phoenix-area farmers markets. A café and bakery followed in 2015, North Scottsdale in 2018, and a production bakery and café in 2022. In 2023, we became Buttered Up Bakery—growing the menu while keeping the same care, craft, and warm place to gather.
